Construction of wood pellets silos and ship loader

Cribtec Division

Cribtec was involved from the start by Quebec Stevedoring in electrical engineering studies for the implementation of the Marine Terminal Quebec biomass. The terminal is designed to receive and unload wood pellet wagons and store the pellet through a conveyor system closed into two silos of 37,500 tons capacity each, until the pellet is loaded on a ship.

Key Project Deliverables

The major deliverables are, the design of power and control, supply, electrical installation and project startup including, among others :

  • Supply and controls motor loads requiring two electrical rooms of 3000 amps at 600 volts
  • Controls & Automation System with programmable logic controllers
  • Wonderware GALAXY type operator interface system
  • Gas level measuring and detection systems of the silos
  • Interfacing of gas injection systems and dedusting
